CHAS at Home has an exciting opportunity to assist us as an Administration Volunteer. This involves undertaking a range of administrative tasks such as typing, opening mail and photocopying. The CHAS at Home team work directly with families, providing support and nursing care to children in their homes so we’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers who will give them a warm welcome. Activities you can be involved in as an Administration Volunteer include:
*Answering the telephone and relaying messages, making calls when appropriate *Opening and recording incoming mail and dealing with outgoing mail in accordance with office procedures. *Computer work such as inputting spreadsheets, printing labels and checking emails *Updating policy folders and CHAS at Home documents *Photocopying, scanning and filing.
Supporting the CHAS at Home team with administrative tasks helps to ensure that post goes out on time, filing is up to date and paperwork managed appropriately, contributing to the smooth running of the service. In addition to this, you may be the first point of contact for families so a friendly, warm response at the end of the phone or in person can help to make a big difference to their overall experience of CHAS. The time commitment is flexible and can be agreed with your volunteer supervisor and the CHAS at Home Manager. Excellent support and relevant training is provided to all volunteers. We will also pay your out of pocket expenses in line with the CHAS volunteer expenses policy. This is also a fantastic way to:
*Learn new skills whilst having fun *Getting more involved and making a real difference to the families of children with a life-shortening condition. *Adding to your cv *Meeting new people *Having fun!
All help makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated. If you’re interested in this role please contact firstname.lastname@example.org / tel.: 01224 841540.
