Are you interested in DIY? Would you like to volunteer at an award winning museum? The Maintenance & DIY Volunteer role may suit you.

The Gordon Highlanders Museum is committed to preserving and sharing the legacy of the world famous Gordon Highlanders Regiment for future generations. A Gordon Highlanders Museum Guide brings to life the extraordinary 200 year story of ‘The Finest Regiment in the World’. (Sir Winston Churchill 1900).

Maintenance & DIY Volunteers assist with tasks such as: *Using small hand tools; screwdrivers, hammers *Using maintenance equipment including battery driven equipment; pressure washer, ladder *Painting & Decorating *General DIY *Installing new fixtures and fittings *Small joinery jobs The tasks vary and volunteers will know what the task that needs to be done before they come along.

Excellent support and training is provided to all volunteers. Including Core Induction: introduction to the history of the Regiment and the Museum; staff/trustee structure; ‘the small but important stuff’ and a short familiarisation tour of the Museum and Specific Role Induction: h&s, description of the task. A warm welcome awaits anyone interested in volunteering with us. There is a named staff contact for all Volunteers as well as the other volunteers who are happy to help you settle in.
