Community Transport Volunteers | RVS: Royal Voluntary Service

Do you love driving, meeting people and have a genuine interest in helping older people? Then this role is for you.

Our Community Transport volunteers provide much needed transport for older people to help them attend appointments and social activities. Volunteer drivers provide friendly social contact and help them to maintain their independence. You can also help with shopping needs either with Assisted Shopping or Shop and Drop. Your role will involve elements of lone working and building a relationship with those you transport, which is hugely rewarding for both you and the older people. You may take an older person to a regular appointment or respond to ad-hoc requests for transport. Drivers use their own vehicles to provide a friendly journey and support the older person to and from their home and destination. Community Transport volunteers are so much more than taxi drivers!

All help makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated. For more information please contact us via email: aberdeenhub@royalvoluntaryservice.org.uk  or tel 01224 937110.
