Advocacy Volunteers – Advocacy Service Aberdeen

*Are you interested in becoming an Advocacy Volunteer?

*Next Volunteer Training Course Starts Autumn 2022 (1 day a week for 5 weeks). Lunch and refreshments provided. Venue to be confirmed.

Advocacy Volunteers help people speak up for themselves and make their views heard. Sometimes people need support expressing what they want to say and having their point of view taken seriously. Advocacy Volunteers are there to be on someone’s side. They can help people to access information, to understand their rights, to explore options and to express their views and wishes.

All of our client meetings/appointments usually take place on Monday to Friday, between 9:00am and 5:00pm. There is an expectation that Advocacy Volunteers will take on 1-2 clients, which equates to approximately 2-3 hours per week. Advocacy Volunteers are given ongoing support, training and development opportunities.

We work with a wide range of client groups and assist people with a variety of issues. See our website for more information www.advocacy.org.uk

Interviews will take place prior to the course commencing in Autumn 2022.
