In partnership with the Gold from The Stone Foundation and Aberdeen City Council, we are planning a Christmas dinner for care experienced young people aged 18-25 years old on Friday 25th December 2026 (which will be hosted at Dunbar Street Hall, Dunbar Street, Aberdeen AB24 3UJ). In order for this to happen WE NEED YOUR HELP.

We are looking to create a steering group committee in Aberdeen of 10-15 people and Christmas dinner hosts, volunteer drivers and helpers from mixed disciplines, unemployed, self-employed, creatives, anybody who wants to get involved in doing something positive for our care experienced young people of Aberdeen.

We're looking for volunteers who are kind, reliable, welcoming and non-judgemental. You don't need professional experience of working with care-experienced young people. What's most important is that you can help us create a relaxed & respectful Christmas Day where every young person feels welcomed and valued. There are flexible times to help on the day and in the lead up to the Christmas Dinner. All help will make a real difference and be greatly appreciated.

Volunteers should be willing to work as part of a team, respect confidentiality and boundaries, follow safeguarding guidance and understand that every care-experienced young person's circumstances and experiences are different.

Community is at the foundations of our work as a grass roots organisation, and we want to offer a joyful, dignified, and meaningful experience for care experienced young people in a warm and welcoming environment, giving them a Christmas they will never forget, whilst also become part of an amazing national movement of social community care, that is needed more than ever.
