About this opportunity

Aberdeenshire RFC, based at the Woodside Sports complex, Station Road, Aberdeen, AB24 2UL, provides an opportunity to become actively involved in a welcoming and community-focused rugby club while gaining valuable experience, developing new skills, and making a positive contribution to the club.

We are looking for volunteers to support a range of areas across the club, with opportunities suited to people with different interests, skills, and levels of experience. Current opportunities include marketing and social media, website management, photography, club maintenance, coaching, and committee roles.

Volunteers interested in marketing and social media can help promote the club, its teams, fixtures, events, and achievements through social media and other communications. This could include creating content, taking videos, managing social media platforms, promoting events, and helping to increase the club's profile within the local community.

Website volunteers can help maintain and update the Aberdeenshire RFC website, ensuring that information such as fixtures, results, club news, events, team information, and contact details remains accurate and up to date. There may also be opportunities to improve the website's content and presentation and help make it a useful source of information for players, parents, members, supporters, and the wider community.

Photography volunteers can help capture match days, training sessions, events, and important moments around the club. This content can be used across social media, the website, newsletters, and promotional materials.

For those who prefer a practical role, club maintenance volunteers can assist with maintaining and improving the club's grounds, facilities, equipment, and surrounding areas. This is an important contribution to ensuring the club remains a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for members and visitors.

There are also opportunities for volunteers interested in coaching. Volunteers can support rugby sessions and teams, helping players develop their skills while encouraging teamwork, confidence, enjoyment, and participation. Appropriate training and qualifications may be required depending on the coaching role.

For individuals who would like to become more involved in the running and development of the club, committee roles provide an opportunity to contribute to decision-making, organisation, planning, fundraising, events, and the long-term development of Aberdeenshire RFC.

All volunteers will receive a brief induction to Aberdeenshire RFC, including an introduction to the club, facilities, relevant procedures, and their role. Volunteers will be supported by an appropriate club contact and provided with guidance to help them carry out their responsibilities confidently.

Where required, ongoing training and development may be available, particularly for coaching, digital/website roles, and committee responsibilities.

Volunteers will have opportunities to ask questions, receive feedback, and develop their skills through practical experience.

Support will be tailored to the individual volunteer and the role they undertake.

Volunteering with the club offers the chance to meet new people, build confidence, develop transferable skills, gain practical experience, and become part of the local rugby community. Whether contributing behind the scenes, on match days, on the pitch, or through the club's wider organisation, every volunteer plays an important role in helping Aberdeenshire RFC continue to grow and thrive.
