About this opportunity
Call for Volunteers: ICOVAW 2026 – Our Collective Power
Join us in making a difference. Help us deliver an impactful International Conference on Violence Against Women.
Join Time to Heal as a volunteer at ICOVAW 2026—the International Conference on Violence Against Women, themed “Our Collective Power.” The opportunity takes place at Crowne Plaza Aberdeen Airport, 2 International Gate, Dyce, Aberdeen, AB21 0BE between 19th-21st November 2026 with flexible times available to volunteer during these days.
This is an opportunity to contribute to an international event that brings people together to raise awareness, share knowledge and strengthen collective action against violence against women. Your time, skills and enthusiasm will help create a welcoming and well-organised conference where meaningful conversations and connections can flourish.
We are looking for friendly, reliable and enthusiastic volunteers to support areas such as:
- Welcoming and registration: Greeting guests, checking registrations and providing information.
- Event support and logistics: Helping prepare the venue, organise materials and keep activities running smoothly.
- Delegate and speaker support: Guiding participants and assisting speakers with practical arrangements.
- Social media and promotion: Helping share conference updates and create engaging content, with appropriate consent.
- Hospitality: Supporting refreshments and helping guests feel welcome.
Whether you enjoy meeting people, organising activities, creating content or working behind the scenes, there is a meaningful way to contribute.
Volunteering offers the chance to develop practical event experience, build confidence, meet people from diverse backgrounds and connect with others who care about safer communities. You will be part of a team supporting Time to Heal’s mission of “Rebuilding Broken Lives.”
You do not need to be an expert in domestic abuse to make a valuable contribution. We welcome a willingness to learn, respect for confidentiality and a compassionate, non-judgemental approach. Relevant experience is welcome, and roles will be discussed according to your interests, skills and availability. Volunteers will receive a briefing covering Time to Heal’s mission, the conference programme, their responsibilities, venue arrangements and health and safety procedures. Guidance will include confidentiality, safeguarding, respectful communication and responding sensitively to delegates. A designated coordinator will provide practical guidance, answer questions and offer support throughout the event. Volunteers will be shown how to raise concerns and refer sensitive enquiries to the appropriate team member. Regular check-ins will help volunteers feel confident, supported and valued.
Together, our voices are stronger. Join us and help make ICOVAW 2026 a welcoming, impactful and memorable experience.
Please note the minimum age to volunteer for this opportunity is 24 years old.
