About this opportunity

Aberdeen RDA is a member group of the national charity Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA). The Aberdeen Group was formed in 1970 so is one of the oldest groups in Scotland. Since 1970, we have provided horse riding therapy for thousands of disabled children and adults. Nationwide, RDA horses benefit the lives of over 25,000 disabled children and adults.

We are currently seeking volunteers to help at any of our sessions that take place – Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Friday morning (we ask volunteers to help out once a week for one session for a maximum of two and a half hours). Volunteers are required as "side walkers", walking alongside the ponies (one either side) to assist the riders. No horse or pony experience is required and training will be given. Also require volunteers who are confident to lead the ponies with riders onboard. Again, training will be given. PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) checks will be required but will be coordinated by us.

A fantastic opportunity to help and make a real difference for people. All assistance is greatly appreciated.
