About this opportunity
We are looking for volunteers to study whether replacing sugar with a prebiotic in a drink can reduce blood glucose levels.
We are looking for:
- Healthy men and women aged 18-65 years
- Those with BMI 18.5 to 29.9 kg/m2
- Those who are non-smoking
- Those who are not currently following a vegan diet
What is involved?
- Two study visits after fasting for 12 hours, scheduled at least one week apart
- At each visit, consume one drink (100 mL) containing either sugar or a sweet, soluble fibre (OLIGOMATE®) dissolved in water
- Provide two blood samples before consuming the drink and six samples after (up to 2 hours)
- You will receive an allowance of £70 for your time and travel costs upon completion of the intervention.
