We are currently seeking a volunteer to help us as a Volunteer Coordinator.
What will you be doing?
In this role you’ll be able to develop your leadership, management, communication, organisation, and motivation skills. This position involves overseeing all aspects of volunteer management, including recruitment, scheduling, and providing ongoing support to ensure a positive and enriching volunteer experience. Help coordinate volunteers to represent VSA at community events, outreach activities, and networking opportunities to raise awareness, and sustaining a dedicated team of volunteers who contribute to the success of our organisation's mission.
Responsibilities:
• Volunteer Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies to attract potential volunteers from diverse backgrounds and communities, aligning their interests with the foundation's programs and initiatives.
• Volunteer induction: Conduct induction sessions for new volunteers, equipping them with the necessary knowledge, and understanding of VSA’s values and objectives.
• Volunteer Coordination: Maintain a well-organized volunteer schedule, ensuring sufficient coverage for all activities and events. Assign volunteers to various projects based on their skills, interests, and availability.
• Volunteer Support: Offer ongoing guidance, encouragement, and appreciation to volunteers, fostering a positive and engaging environment that promotes retention and commitment.
• Volunteer Engagement: Plan and execute appreciation events and recognition programs to celebrate the contributions and dedication of our volunteers.
• Communication: Maintain regular communication with volunteers through various channels, including email, social media groups, and in-person meetings, keeping them informed about upcoming opportunities and initiatives.
• Volunteer Database Management: Keep accurate records of volunteer information, hours served, and skills to facilitate efficient volunteer coordination and reporting.
• Collaboration: Work closely with managers and coordinators to identify volunteer needs and ensure that volunteers are placed in positions that align with their interests and abilities.
• Volunteer Feedback and Evaluation: Collect feedback from volunteers regularly to assess their experience, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance the volunteer program.
• Volunteer Policy Compliance: Ensure volunteers adhere to organizational policies and procedures, including confidentiality agreements, health and safety guidelines, and code of conduct.

Experience:
Customer Service Experience: Experience in customer service, interacting with people and effectively communicating the organisation's message and impact.
