It starts with 'hello' - from new mums to empty nesters, it's often surprising who is affected by loneliness. That's why we're teaming up with The Co-operative. Together we want to reach out and reconnect thousands of lonely people with their communities, and tackle a problem that is shortening lives and eroding wellbeing.

This role involves visiting blind and partially sighted people in their homes, installing their new radio and teaching them how to use it as well as proving ongoing support, where needed. This role also involves a small amount of admin.

For people leaving hospital, adjusting to life at home can be a difficult time. Helping someone get their essential shopping, pick up their prescription or get the heating turned on can make all the difference for them to feel safe at home.

If you like to keep active and stay in shape, volunteering in one of our local furniture store warehouses could be the answer you?re looking for. We need helpful and active people to help keep our stock moving from the van to warehouse and onto the store and from store back to the van for delivery!

Could you be the face of your local British Heart Foundation shop? If you want to gain cashier and sales experience in a friendly environment, this is a great way to get a taste of a career in retail while helping raise live-saving funds.

If you're a keen rummager and like things to be neat and tidy, then we have a role for you - helping in our retail stock room to sort the fantastic donations we receive behind the scenes. If you love a bit of ironing, then master the steamer and watch those wrinkles disappear (it's surprisingly therapeutic!) or become a tagging extraordinaire, allowing customers to understand what item they are purchasing.

Or maybe you could help us promote our donated stock via the web to reach more customers online? We require curious people to help us with our online sales and sell a range of donated items on various websites, allowing customers to raise life-saving funds from home.

Love music, films or gaming? We're looking for knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers to help sort, price and display our wide range of donated CDs, DVDs and games. This is a flexible opportunity to share your love of music or film, to get a taster of a career as a retail assistant and help the British Heart Foundation beat heartbreak forever.

Bridge of Don Sea Cadets, based at Gordon Barracks, is currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Secretary to join its Unit Management Team (UMT).
