You can get involved in a number of ways, such as reviewing council services, attending events and conferences, and meeting with senior officers. And the best part, you can be involved with as much or as little as you like. We have a diverse group of tenants and residents who work well together and welcome all new people to join.

Our friendly trustees come from a variety of experience and backgrounds, and we are aiming to strengthen our Board by recruiting up to 4 new trustees who have a good understanding of the third sector, and in particular with skills in any or some of the following: Finance, Fundraising, IT, Secretarial, Marketing and Publicity.

You will be a friendly face of Barnardo’s by volunteering in one of our shops. Our retail stores are the face of our charity on the high-street and in local communities. We have loads of amazing stock donated to us every week, and this all needs to be sorted, tagged and put on the shop-floor for sale!

Volunteers and their dogs undertake therapy dog visits. Volunteers and their dogs visit care homes, hospitals, schools, heliports the airport and the prison, universities and we do one off events at company sites for company wellbeing days. Therapets can be small, medium or large! The only real vital statistic is a steady and happy temperament.

The Newton Dee Bakery is a sheltered workshop for adults with additional support needs who work together to produce delicious baked goods, such as specialty breads, pastries, pizzas and pies. These are sold in the Bakery shop and the Newton Dee Store as well as delivered to other Camphill communities in the area.

We are looking for volunteers to help with an exciting event coming up in August in Union Terrace Gardens – Big Bounce 2025! The event takes place between 7th-10th August 2025, with flexible times available to volunteer. This is a great opportunity to be part of a fantastic event in the heart of Aberdeen City centre.
