About this opportunity
Are you confident using a laptop and familiar with Microsoft programs like PowerPoint? If so, you could play a vital role in Musical Memories—a joyful singing group for people living with dementia, along with their partners, families, and friends.
We’re looking for someone to help run the technical side of our sessions, such as displaying lyrics, playing music tracks, or managing simple presentations.
Led by a dedicated team of volunteers, these sessions promote wellbeing, spark memories, and encourage connection through music. Your tech skills could help make the magic happen!
Previously held at the Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Resource Centre, this event now takes place every second Friday, 1.30pm-3.00pm at the Cowdray Hall (in/next to Aberdeen Art Gallery), Schoolhill, Aberdeen, AB10 1JQ, supporting larger audiences and growing community engagement.
Excellent support and relevant guidance is provided to all volunteers. Volunteers will receive a full induction to Musical Memories sessions, a tour of the venue and a copy of the Aberdeen Archives, Gallery & Museums volunteer handbook. We will also provide training on Being Dementia Friendly.
A fantastic, enjoyable opportunity to help and make a real difference. All assistance is greatly appreciated.
