Aberdeen Archives, Gallery & Museums (AAGM) cares for collections of outstanding importance and quality on behalf of the people of Aberdeen. We are part of Aberdeen City Council’s Place: City Growth team and through our collections, buildings, exhibitions and events we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of everyone who lives, works, studies and visits our city. Our collections are recognised by UNESCO and the Scottish Government as nationally and internationally important. The historical records of Aberdeenshire Council are also preserved and managed by the team.
Volunteering with AAGM is not just about lending a hand; it's about becoming a custodian of Aberdeen's story. Our collections, ranging from priceless artifacts to evocative artworks, are not mere objects; they are vessels of history, conduits of culture, and bridges between generations. By joining our volunteer family, you become a vital link in this chain of preservation and discovery.
Volunteering at AAGM isn't just about giving; it's about gaining. Whether you're a seasoned historian or an aspiring artist, there's a place for you here. Immerse yourself in our exhibitions, delve into our archives, and expand your horizons alongside a team of passionate individuals who share your love for learning and discovery.
As custodians of Aberdeenshire's historical records, we carry the responsibility of safeguarding the stories of generations past for generations to come. By volunteering with AAGM, you become a guardian of this invaluable legacy, ensuring that the voices of our ancestors continue to echo through the corridors of time.
