Kings Community Foundation

The King’s Community Foundation is a local charity working across Aberdeen to support people and communities facing poverty, isolation and other challenges. Founded by members of King’s Church Aberdeen, the Foundation focuses on serving people in crisis, addressing the causes of hardship and building stronger networks of care.

The Foundation delivers a range of community projects, including Aberdeen North Foodbank, the Bridge Centre in Torry, King’s Way Centre, Flourish and Menu for Change. Its work supports people of all ages, from children and young people developing confidence and emotional wellbeing, to older people experiencing isolation and people facing financial hardship or crisis. In 2025, the Foundation distributed 40,000 meals, supported 322 people through its financial inclusion partnership and welcomed more than 10,000 visitors to the Bridge Centre.

Volunteers are an important part of the Foundation’s work, with opportunities ranging from supporting foodbank sessions and community cafés to befriending older people, helping with activities, administration and creative projects. Volunteers can also support Flourish, delivering mental health and wellbeing sessions in schools following appropriate training.

Whether you can offer a regular commitment or just a few hours, there are a variety of ways to get involved and make a difference in communities across Aberdeen.
