Action for Children Aberdeen Priority Families - be rewarded and have new experiences, volunteer with us as a Child/Young Person Mentor. Volunteer mentors guide, advise, listen to and support children/young people, sharing their experiences as well as trying new activities and spending quality time together.

Aberdeen Women's Alliance are a small, local, charity that was set up in 2004. Our aim is to enable Aberdeen womens' voices to be better heard by decision-makers. Since 2013 we have also run a successful local women's history project. Most recently during the pandemic, we have worked with our partners to make sure some disadvantaged women are having their basic needs met.

Would you like to help children with disabilities by assisting with travel to and from our services in Aberdeen? Aberlour Options Aberdeen is a short breaks service, providing residential, community-based short breaks and care at home for children and young people with disabilities.

Street Friends operate between 10am to 2pm distributing food and hot drinks to anyone in need in the centre of Aberdeen. We are a friendly team who are looking for volunteers to help on the streets. Volunteers must be fairly fit as the role entails walking whilst pulling a trolley, making hot drinks and, this is probably the most important quality for working at street friends, being non judgemental.

We are on the look-out for budding gardeners to help transform our Sensory Garden and outdoor space at the Aberdeen Science Centre. An ideal opportunity for those who are interested in gardening

We don't think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That's why we provide three days' nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the country.

Aberdeen Linking Lives is a befriending service generally aimed at the elderly who find themselves requiring some extra friendship and support. We match volunteers with older people who would like to see a friendly volunteer visitor on a regular basis for around one hour.

Do you have a spare room in your home that you'd be willing to open for a young person who has nowhere to stay? Our Nightstop service relies on ordinary people just like you - with a spare bedroom which they are willing to offer to a guest.
