Our team of more than 100 volunteers is at the heart of Somebody Cares and plays a vital role in our day-to-day work. People volunteer for many reasons – to make a difference, meet others, build confidence or combat loneliness – but whether they give an hour a month or several days a week, every volunteer is part of the Somebody Cares family and the lifeblood of what we do.

We would like to invite you to contribute to an upcoming study exploring how clinical trials can be made more environmentally sustainable (“greener”). This research is being conducted by the Aberdeen Centre for Evaluation (part of the University of Aberdeen) and is funded by the Wellcome Trust.

We are looking for a volunteer Treasurer / Accountant Support person to help us build a strong financial foundation as the charity begins this next stage. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who wants to use their finance, bookkeeping, accounting, or organisational skills to support a growing Christian youth-focused charity.

As the club continues to grow, we are actively seeking volunteers to join our team. We have a number of volunteer roles available in every area of the club including kit volunteers, match day helpers, shop servers. All skill sets are welcome as training will be available. No experience required.

Based at Aberdeen Sports Village, Arrows Trampoline Club offers training for trampolinists of all levels, from beginners to those competing at an advanced standard. The Club is currently seeking enthusiastic volunteers to train for coaching and judging roles.

There are a range of exciting opportunities to volunteer at this years North Atlantic Fiddle Convention which takes place between 24th-28th June 2026. Join us as we celebrate 25 years of music, dance, and cultural exchange across the North Atlantic.

Do you love talking about sport? Our clubs support older people who enjoy reminiscing about sport. Sporting Memories has opportunities for people to help at our Northfield Club in Aberdeen which meets at Northfield Community Centre, Byron Square, Aberdeen, AB16 7LL on Wednesdays 10.30am-12.00pm.

The Nook in Aberdeen will open its doors this summer, and we need your help.  The Nook in Aberdeen offers free, drop-in mental health and wellbeing support seven days a week - without the need for an appointment or referral. A safe, stigma-free space where anyone can visit to speak about mental health.

We are looking for volunteers to join our Youth Café team. There are great opportunities to support a variety of activities, provide a listening ear, and help create a warm, welcoming space for young people. You’ll play a key role in encouraging personal development while gaining valuable experience in youth and community work.
